WarGames

(1983)Directed by John Badham114 min · PGDrama, Science Fiction, Thriller
“Is it a game, or is it real?”

David Lightman (Matthew Broderick), a high school kid in Seattle with a gift for hacking, only wants to get into a software company's computer and play its unreleased games. He dials into the wrong system, and the machine on the other end is the Defense Department's war computer, which treats his moves as real. John Badham keeps the control rooms dim and humming, and the clock on the wall is always moving.
