“Arthur Robison's Expressionist Thriller”

At a dinner in a German manor, the Count (Fritz Kortner) watches four suitors crowd around his wife (Ruth Weyher), and his jealousy tightens with each course. A traveling Shadowplayer (Alexander Granach) arrives and offers the guests a show, casting their own figures on the wall. Arthur Robison made it without a single spoken line, and the Count, who cannot stop watching the room, keeps looking for proof.
