“Family is worth fighting for.”

Tommy Conlon (Tom Hardy) comes home wanting only one thing, for his father Paddy (Nick Nolte), a former boxer who drank away the family, to train him for a mixed martial arts tournament. Gavin O'Connor sets Tommy against his older brother Brendan (Joel Edgerton), who has his own reasons to enter the ring. Each man is fighting to keep what he has left, and the bracket is already drawing them toward each other.
