Warsaw 44

“Love in the times of the Apocalypse.”

Stefan Zawadzki (Józef Pawłowski) is a young man in Warsaw after five years of Nazi occupation, with the Soviet Army closing in from the east. On August 1st, 1944, he joins the youngest and bravest of the city's residents, among them Alicja "Biedronka" (Zofia Wichłacz), as they rise up and take the fight street by street. Jan Komasa makes a story about freedom and how much of a generation it can cost.
