Harry (Tom Schilling) is a bank trainee at a Sparkasse in 1981, with a plan to become the manager of his friends' band, Apollo Schwabing. He has already booked them as the opening act for a DAF concert, at the height of the German New Wave. Benjamin Quabeck keeps the focus on Harry and Vince (Robert Stadlober), two friends whose bond has to survive the band's one shot at making it.
