Watchmen

In 1985, with costumed vigilantes outlawed and the Cold War still going, Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) starts investigating the murder of one of his old masked colleagues. His search pulls the retired heroes back together, among them Dan Dreiberg (Patrick Wilson) and Dr. Manhattan (Billy Crudup). Zack Snyder works from Dave Gibbons's comic and keeps the page's framing close, so that many shots feel lifted straight from the panels.
