Water for Elephants

“Life is the most spectacular show on earth.”

A veterinary student walks away from his studies and onto a circus train, with no plan beyond the next stop. Jacob Jankowski (Robert Pattinson) is hired to look after the animals of a traveling show during the Depression, and he can't stop watching Marlena Rosenbluth (Reese Witherspoon), the star performer married to the ringmaster August (Christoph Waltz). Francis Lawrence keeps Marlena in the frame at the edge of every scene, always just out of Jacob's reach.
