A Lower Manhattan industrial loft, 1967, seen from a single fixed position through its windows. Michael Snow lets the camera creep toward the far wall, where a photograph hangs, and people drift in and out of the room as it goes. The whole film depends on how long you will stay with that slow approach, since every foot closer shuts out a little more of the room.
