We Are Your Friends

“The world is yours.”

Cole Carter (Zac Efron) is 23, a Los Angeles DJ who spends his nights at clubs and his days with his friends, chasing the one track that will get him out of the Valley. He meets James Reed (Wes Bentley), an established DJ who takes him on as a protégé, and then he starts falling for James's girlfriend Sophie (Emily Ratajkowski). Max Joseph leaves Cole alone with his laptop, headphones on, the track still unfinished.
