“Last night at 2:17 AM, every child from Mrs. Gandy's class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, walked into the dark ...and they never came back.”

On one night, at exactly the same time, seventeen children from the same classroom get out of bed and leave their homes. Only one boy stays behind, and his teacher Justine (Julia Garner) becomes the person the town blames. Zach Cregger follows her and Archer (Josh Brolin), a father with a missing son, as two people who have nobody else to take the loss to.
