Weekend

(1967)Directed by Jean-Luc Godard104 min · RComedy

Corinne (Mireille Darc) and Roland Durand (Jean Yanne) are a Parisian couple driving out to the countryside for a weekend, each hoping to come back richer after the people they're visiting die. Jean-Luc Godard parks them in a traffic jam that does not move, and the road around them fills with wrecks, bodies and armed revolutionaries. The film treats a married couple's greed and a whole society's appetite as the same hunger.
