Welcome to the Dollhouse

“Not all girls want to play with dolls.”

Dawn Wiener (Heather Matarazzo) is a seventh grader in suburban New Jersey who wants, more than anything, for someone at school or at home to take her side. She is the middle child, wedged between Missy (Daria Kalinina), the family's pretty younger daughter, and Mark (Matthew Faber). Todd Solondz sets Dawn's days against the hallway taunts and her parents' distracted dinners, with the dollhouse of the title standing for the home she has to live in.
