Welcome to the South

“When you come to the South you cry twice: when you arrive and when you leave.”

Alberto Colombo (Claudio Bisio) runs a post office in a small town in Brianza, and his wife Silvia (Angela Finocchiaro) wants him in Milan. He fakes a disability to jump the transfer list, gets caught, and is sent to Campania, a posting he treats as a sentence. Luca Miniero's film has him learning the place from his new colleague Mattia (Alessandro Siani), and finding that what he feared about the South was mostly what he had been told.
