Werckmeister Harmonies
In a small Hungarian town during the communist era, János Valuska (Lars Rudolph) is a gentle young man who carries the news between the locals and looks after his uncle György Eszter (Peter Fitz). Then a circus arrives, and its main attraction draws the townspeople into the square. Béla Tarr builds the film from thirty-nine long, slow shots, letting the camera stay with each face and street until the unease has no place left to hide.
