“After life there is more. The end is just the beginning.”

Chris Nielsen (Robin Williams) dies in a car accident and wakes in an afterlife shaped by whatever he imagines, guided by a spirit named Albert (Cuba Gooding Jr.). Vincent Ward builds that world with a painter's heaviness, and Chris finds even his children waiting there. Then his wife Annie (Annabella Sciorra) dies by her own hand, and Chris decides that love is worth following into the worst place there is.
