What Have I Done to Deserve This?

“The Hell of Home.”

The question in the title never gets answered, and Gloria (Carmen Maura) has no time to ask it anyway. She cleans other people's homes and returns to her own, where her husband Antonio (Ángel de Andrés López) ignores her, her sons run wild, and her mother-in-law holds her ground. Pedro Almodóvar leaves her in the cramped flat, the neighbor's door across the hall, the kitchen where the work never ends.
