What the Day Owes the Night
In 1930s Algeria, nine-year-old Younes is handed over to his uncle in Oran and given a new name, Jonas. He grows up among the Rio Salado boys, a gang whose members are all in love with Émilie (Nora Arnezeder), and it is Jonas (Fu'ad Aït Aattou) she is drawn to. Alexandre Arcady adapts Yasmina Khadra's novel, and the love between them has to live inside a country that keeps pulling its people apart.
