“It's time to get wise!”

Amanda (Marlee Matlin), a divorced photographer, starts to question her work, her relationships with men and her place in the world. Her story is cut with interviews in which scientists, philosophers and religious leaders speak to an off-screen questioner about quantum physics and consciousness. William Arntz and Betsy Chasse blend scripted drama with those talking heads, so the film moves between a woman's ordinary days and lecture-style explanation.
