“How you cats will laugh ... when you see the answer to the comedy question of the year!!!”

Michael James (Peter O'Toole) can't stop chasing women, even with Carole Werner (Romy Schneider) waiting to marry him, and nobody can say why he can't quit. He goes for help to Dr. Fritz Fassbender (Peter Sellers), a psychoanalyst whose own romantic troubles are worse than his patient's. Clive Donner directs Woody Allen's first produced screenplay, and the story turns on whether Carole will keep waiting for him.
