Ryusuke Hamaguchi's 2021 anthology gives three short stories to three Japanese women, each caught between what they chose and what they might have chosen. In the first, Meiko (Kotone Furukawa) hears her friend Tsugumi (Hyunri) describe a new romance, and Meiko is drawn to the man herself. Across the three episodes, the pull between two people sits right at the center, in conversations where the distance between them is never quite spoken aloud.
