When Evil Lurks

“There's no point in praying.”

Pedro (Ezequiel Rodríguez) and his brother Jimi (Demián Salomón) live in rural Argentina, where a demonic infection has been festering in a nearby farmhouse. They try to get the sick man off their land without following the proper rites, and in Demián Rugna's film that carelessness sets possessions spreading through the countryside. Rugna treats the rules as plain and unforgiving, and the film keeps showing how little anyone is excused for ignoring them.
