When We Leave

Umay (Sibel Kekilli) is a young woman of Turkish descent in Germany who wants a life she can run herself. Her family pushes back, and Feo Aladag follows what happens when Umay will not give way, with her husband Cem (Nizam Schiller), her father Kader (Settar Tanrıöğen), and her mother Halyme (Derya Alabora) each pulling in a different direction. What she has to lose is her family, and eventually her safety.
