Whip It

“Be your own hero.”

In Bodeen, Texas, Bliss Cavendar (Elliot Page) is a small-town misfit who loves indie rock and has nothing else to hold onto. Then she finds a roller derby league in nearby Austin, and it gives her a team to join and a way out of the misery. Drew Barrymore, directing for the first time, also plays Smashley Simpson, one of the skaters on the track.
