Whistle Stop

“SHE SPELLED TROUBLE FOR EVERY GUY THAT MADE A PLAY FOR HER!”

Mary (Ava Gardner) steps off the train into her old hometown, a small place where the rain keeps coming and everyone remembers her. Two of her former boyfriends, Kenny Veech (George Raft) and Lew Lentz (Tom Conway), have a long-standing grudge, and her return pulls it into the open. Léonide Moguy sets it in the town's nightspots and wet streets, working from a Philip Yordan screenplay.
