White Noise

“You can’t hear it if it's everywhere.”

In a 1980s college town, Jack Gladney (Adam Driver) teaches Hitler studies at The-College-on-the-Hill and lives noisily with his wife Babette (Greta Gerwig) and their children. Noah Baumbach, adapting Don DeLillo's 1985 novel, starts with the campus talk, then a rail car spills chemicals near their home and an Airborne Toxic Event sends the town running. Jack stands in the family car with the engine on, the children in the back seat, facing his fear of dying.
