White Palace

“The story of a younger man and a bolder woman.”

Max Baron (James Spader), a young advertising executive, has not stopped grieving his wife, and then a night with Nora Baker (Susan Sarandon), a waitress nearly twenty years older, pulls him out of that numbness. Their attraction is immediate, but she works a diner counter and he sits at the table with his colleagues and his Jewish friends. Luis Mandoki keeps the two of them in close, unhurried scenes.
