Whity

Whity (Günther Kaufmann) is the butler of the Nicholson household in the American Southwest of 1878, and he carries out every order he is given, however demeaning. Benjamin Nicholson (Ron Randell) rules the house with his young wife and two sons, one of them the cruel Frank (Ulli Lommel), and each of them starts asking Whity to do worse things. Fassbinder, shooting in Spain, stages this Spaghetti Western as a melodrama played out in stiff, deliberate tableaux.
