Wholly Moses

“The story of Herschel. He wanted to be Moses...but he didn't have the right connections.”

Two tourists in Israel, Harvey and Zoey (Dudley Moore and Laraine Newman), come across an ancient scroll telling of Herschel, a man who was almost Moses. In the scroll, Herschel is an idol maker who hears the command of God to free his people from slavery, and the credit keeps landing on someone else. Gary Weis builds the story around that near miss, a comedy about how history remembers one name and forgets the man standing beside it.
