Who's Harry Crumb?

“Nerves of steel. Body of iron. Brain of stone.”

A wealthy businessman's daughter has been kidnapped, and the Crumb & Crumb detective agency hands the case to Harry Crumb (John Candy), a well-meaning private investigator who is very bad at his job. Harry never suspects that the agency's president, Eliot Draisen (Jeffrey Jones), planned the crime and gave him the file so it would go nowhere. Paul Flaherty sets a girl's safety against a detective who can't find what is right in front of him.
