Wild Bill

“The Name Is Legendary. The Man Is Real.”

Wild Bill Hickok (Jeff Bridges) is a famous lawman and gunslinger who has outlived the frontier that made his name. His early career is compressed into a few vivid episodes before he settles in Deadwood, where he meets Calamity Jane (Ellen Barkin) again. Walter Hill builds the film from the stage play and novel he adapted, treating the legend as a reputation the man now has to carry.
