Wild Reeds
It is the summer of 1962 in rural southwest France, and the Algerian War is winding down. François (Gaël Morel), a boarding-school teenager with a girlfriend in Maïté (Élodie Bouchez), finds himself drawn to two classmates: Serge (Stéphane Rideau), a farm boy, and Henri (Frédéric Gorny), a French-Algerian who argues politics. André Téchiné films the four of them with a patient, unhurried eye, letting their first loves unfold at the pace of an ordinary school year.
