Wild Strawberries

A summer drive from Stockholm to Lund, Sweden, has the retired doctor Isak Borg (Victor Sjöström) riding beside his unhappy daughter-in-law Marianne (Ingrid Thulin), on his way to an honorary degree from his old university. Ingmar Bergman fills the road with hitchhikers, including Sara (Bibi Andersson), who looks just like the girl Isak once loved. Each stop sends him back over his life, and what he finds there is how much of it he spent alone.
