“They're dying to play with you.”

Two students at a South Florida high school accuse guidance counselor Sam Lombardo (Matt Dillon) of rape: Kelly Van Ryan (Denise Richards), a wealthy socialite, and Suzie Toller (Neve Campbell), a troubled girl from the wrong side of town. Sergeant Ray Duquette (Kevin Bacon) smells a conspiracy behind the charges, while John McNaughton keeps the case moving. Sam is suspended and shunned, and he has to fight for whatever life is left him.
