“Discover your true nature”

Anna (Bel Powley) has spent her whole life locked in an attic, kept there by the man she calls Daddy (Brad Dourif), who feeds her stories about the monsters outside. When he is gone, she is taken in by Sheriff Ellen Cooper (Liv Tyler) and brought down into a house full of rooms, lights and strangers. Fritz Böhm keeps Anna small in the frame, a girl in Ellen's spare bedroom, listening to the world on the other side of the door.
