“It's scrumdidilyumptious!”

Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) has no money, so a chocolate bar is a rare treat, and the candy maker Willy Wonka has hidden five golden tickets in the wrappers. Winners get a tour of his factory and a lifetime supply of sweets, and Charlie sets out to find one with Grandpa Joe (Jack Albertson) beside him. Mel Stuart gives Gene Wilder's Wonka a soft voice and a sideways smile, and Charlie wants one ticket badly.
