“DRAMA AND SPECTACLE UNPARALLELED! ENTERTAINMENT UNDREAMED OF! 12,000 PLAYERS! 200 MIGHTY SCENES! TOLD TO THE TUNE OF 87 BELOVED SONGS!”
Woodrow Wilson (Alexander Knox) gives up his post at Princeton to run for Governor of New Jersey, and from there the road leads to the White House. Henry King follows him through the death of his first wife, Ellen (Ruth Nelson), and the pull of a war in Europe. Darryl F. Zanuck oversaw the production himself, and King shot it in Technicolor, with Wilson at the center of every frame.
