Wind Across the Everglades

“STORMING THE HEIGHTS OF MOTION PICTURE GREATNESS!”

Walt Murdock (Christopher Plummer) steps off the boat in early twentieth-century Florida as a new game warden, sent to enforce the conservation laws against the men who hunt the Everglades for bird plumes. Those men answer to Cottonmouth (Burl Ives), a loud, fierce poacher who has no use for a warden's rules. Nicholas Ray sets the two against each other over a single question: who gets to say what the swamp, and everything living in it, is for.
