Wings of Desire

“There are angels on the streets of Berlin.”

Damiel (Bruno Ganz) is an angel who walks through Berlin unseen, listening to the thoughts of the people around him and resting a hand on the ones who are struggling. Wim Wenders sets him beside Cassiel (Otto Sander), who has watched the same crowds for just as long and is content to keep watching. Then Damiel sees Marion (Solveig Dommartin), a lonely trapeze artist, and starts to want a body, a weight, and a life he can touch.
