Lynda Mansell (Emily Lloyd) is sixteen in a staid English seaside town just after the war, and she has been swearing in front of grown-ups since she was small. She lives with her widowed father Eric (Tom Bell) and her younger sister, and she goes looking for the sexual encounters the neighbours would rather nobody mentioned. David Leland writes and directs it with a loose, lived-in affection for the town and for her.
