Woman of Tokyo

In Tokyo in 1933, Ryoichi (Ureo Egawa) is a college student living with his older sister Chikako (Yoshiko Okada), who works days and tells him nothing of her nights. Yasujirō Ozu keeps to the small rooms of their home, where an ordinary evening can turn on a single visitor or a line in the newspaper. Her secret is the only thing paying for his education, and it will not stay hidden forever.
