Woman They Almost Lynched

(1953)Directed by Allan Dwan90 minWestern, Drama
“KATE QUANTRILL...rode like a man...killed like a man...and LOVED like the beautiful woman she was!”

Sally Maris (Joan Leslie) is the female mayor of a neutral town on the Arkansas-Missouri border, working to keep the Civil War out of its streets. A newcomer comes in looking for her brother, and the town's violence soon finds her too. Allan Dwan puts Lance Horton (John Lund) and Charles Quantrill (Brian Donlevy) in the same small place, and Sally has to hold it together with nothing but her word.
