Women of the Night
Fusako Owada (Kinuyo Tanaka) is a war widow in Osaka just after the surrender, with no money and no husband to come home. Kenji Mizoguchi follows her, her sister Natsuko (Sanae Takasugi), and her sister-in-law Kumiko (Tomie Tsunoda) as each of them, for her own reasons, ends up selling herself to live.
