In 1945 Brooklyn, nightclub entertainer Buzzy Bellew witnesses a murder by the gangster Ten Grand Jackson, and two of Jackson's thugs dump his body in the lake at Prospect Park. H. Bruce Humberstone follows what happens when Buzzy comes back as a ghost and summons his twin brother to the park. Edwin Dingle (Danny Kaye) is a bookworm who has to stand in for a loud, flashy man he has never been.
