Woodlawn

(2015)Directed by Andrew Erwin, Jon Erwin123 min · PGDrama
“One Hope. One Truth. One Way (John 14:6)”

In Birmingham in the 1970s, Woodlawn High School is torn by racial tension, and a gifted football player named Tony Nathan has to find a way onto a field that is anything but welcoming. Hank (Sean Astin) steps in as a man of faith who wants the team to answer to their faith and to each other rather than to the hate around them. The Erwin brothers shoot it with a grainy period look and keep the camera on the faces in the stands.
