Wuthering Heights

“Love is a force of nature”

Mr. Earnshaw carries a boy off the streets of Liverpool and brings him home to Wuthering Heights, an isolated farm on the Yorkshire moors in the late 18th century. Heathcliff (Solomon Glave as a child, James Howson grown) grows up beside Cathy (Shannon Beer, then Kaya Scodelario), and the attachment between them hardens into obsession. Andrea Arnold shoots the moors close and handheld, so the film feels pressed against the weather and the mud.
