X: The Unknown

(1956)Directed by Leslie Norman81 minHorror, Science Fiction, Mystery
“It rises from 2000 miles below the earth to melt everything in its path!”

Dr. Adam Royston (Dean Jagger), an American research scientist at a nuclear plant in Scotland, wants to know why people near a remote village are dying with radiation burns. He teams up with Inspector McGill (Leo McKern) as the incidents keep turning up in a straight line leading away from a fissure the army was testing near. Leslie Norman's film leaves the village exposed to whatever feeds on energy, and Royston has little time before it reaches the next place.
