Yao

Yao (Lionel Louis Basse) is thirteen, from a village in northern Senegal, and he wants one thing: to meet Seydou Tall (Omar Sy), the famous French actor. When Seydou arrives in Dakar to promote his book, on his first visit to the country his family came from, the boy sets out alone to cover the 387 kilometers to the capital. Philippe Godeau films the long road home with a gentle, unhurried eye, letting the dust and distance do the work.
