Year of the Gun

“In a city bathed in blood… who can you trust?”

David Raybourne (Andrew McCarthy), an American novelist, goes to Rome to research a book and wants nothing more than to get it written. Instead he gets pulled into the Red Brigade's plan to kidnap Italian Premier Aldo Moro, and the terrorists decide he has to die. John Frankenheimer shoots the city in rough, grainy color, so the dread seems to come straight off the film stock.
