You Are Not Alone

“Love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Bo (Anders Agensø) arrives at a Danish boarding school run by a headmaster who has the manner of a clergyman and none of the warmth. Lonely and scared, he finds a friend in the headmaster's son Kim (Peter Bjerg), and the friendship slowly turns into love, though neither boy has a word for it yet. Lasse Nielsen and Ernst Johansen keep the camera close and plain, letting the two boys' faces say what the grown-ups around them won't.
