You Can't Take It with You

(1938)Directed by Frank Capra126 minComedy, Romance
“You'll love them all for giving you the swellest time you've ever had!”

In 1938 New York, Alice Sycamore (Jean Arthur) is the one fairly ordinary person in a household of eccentrics presided over by her grandfather, Martin Vanderhof (Lionel Barrymore). She falls for Tony Kirby (James Stewart), whose banker father and snobbish mother want no part of her family. Frank Capra sets the two families at one dinner table, Kolenkhov (Mischa Auer) and the rest of the Sycamores crowded around it.
